Information Submitted by Reg & Mary
Reg and Mary Epp,
along with their children Erin, Emily, and Jason, are missionaries with
Mission Aviation Fellowship. From 1986 to 1999 the Epps served in
Botswana on-loan to Flying Mission. They are currently serving at MAF"s
Headquarters in Nampa, Idaho. The highlight of their ministry is
assisting the fellowship with tasks that help the people on the field
accomplish their work and ministry. "From preparing and repairing
airplanes for service overseas to writing
emails for the Operation ACCESS! Project,
we feel we are a vital part of the work of MAF."Since their return from Botswana, Reg has been helping in the hangar with the maintenance of three training airplanes (Cessna 206"s). He is involved with the rebuilding of good used aircraft for return to service overseas. The airplanes usually receive new or additional radios and a major airframe overhaul as well as a new engine. Reg shares, "I have also enjoyed getting to learn a little more about radio installation in wiring and sheet metal." Mary shares that her responsibilities include being a wife and mother. She also works part-time at MAF Headquarters with the Department of Research, specifically the Operation ACCESS! Project, as a secretary and project assistant. "My job includes processing questionnaires and surveys from mission agencies all over the world "their evaluation of where there are significant barriers to the Gospel and Kingdom resources and how MAF can help overcome these barriers." Reg was born in Kansas, but moved around a lot, as his father was a pastor. He trusted the Lord as his personal Savior when five years old, through his sister’s concern and his father’s guidance. After a year at Grace University he joined a Christian musical-drama group, "The Agape Players." It was here that he met Mary and they were married in 1978. Mary grew up in the Chicago area. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of four. Her parents were a godly influence in her life and she dedicated herself to Christian service at age 13. Isaiah 40:31 is a special verse for Reg. "I have been encouraged by God’s continued renewal in my life. He has taken us through many valleys. It is there, in the valleys that we have seen Him lift us up ‘on eagle’s wings.’" For Mary, Isaiah 41:10 is significant. "This verse is important to me because God has proven Himself to me in the past by being with me, strengthening, helping and upholding me through it all. I do not need to fear the future because I know He will continue to be there, keeping His promises!" Reg and Mary share, "We are praising God for our son Jason, whom we were not even sure would still be with us at this point after having a malignant brain tumor removed and going through radiation and chemotherapy. All of our children are a blessing to us and we feel God planned our being here for a purpose and we are enjoying His peace and love over and above all we can ask or think as we continue to grow in Him!"
